Jihnze, or Jihn as he likes to be called, was one of the youngest partners Shadow ever had, and his second one to be at that. He wasn't sent or regularly applied like the other employees, Shadow picked him up at the Blue Crow Tavern in the Bronx. There, he found Jihn, busily working away as a dealer, but to his amazement, because he was seemingly young to be in such a crude place. But, of course, Shadow was there to drown himself in alcohol and smoke, mourning over Sabre's death.

Jihn was a real troublemaker, but none compared to when he stole from one of the biggest syndicates around, the Yakuza. He was spared, luckily, after revealing to the leader that he was a telekinetic, and would prove useful if they let him live. His request was given, but he was forced to work off his stolen goods by being a bartender in the Blue Crow Tavern. There he met a very wasted and forlorn Shadow on September 13, busily drowning himself in whiskey and Marlboro. Jihn was irritated with him, and called him a "weak and drunken bastard" because of how he was whining over one small thing; the fact of what Shadow was mourning about was unknown to Jihn. Before Shadow could pump about a million bullets into him, however, Jihn was called to a nearby table to deal cards out for another blackjack game. Shadow watched as the young bartender displayed an amazing feat: all 52 cards of the deck surrounded Jihn, shuffling themselves before his eyes. After a few rounds of blackjack, Shadow asked Jihn if he would like to see the light. Jihn didn't quite understand why he was helping him, so he warned Shadow of whom he would be dealing with if he wanted to free him. Shadow took down all 25 members of the syndicate in less than an hour, surprising the young telekinetic, and freed Jihn. Before he left him, however, Jihn begged Shadow to allow him to live with him and become his partner. Shadow accepted, and on September 20, he officially had a new partner.

Shadow's happiness soon ended, sadly, after living with the hyperactive japanese youngster. He had enrolled Jihn into Parthen Academy, hoping he'd finish his education where he left off. On September 26, as Jihn was walking home, a mysterious man approached him. After telling the stranger to leave him for the second time, a shine of cold steel struck him four times, ending the life of Jihn. A doorbell sound interrupted Shadow from his cooking, and he immediatly walked over to the door to answer it. He nearly had a breakdown as he saw Jihn, lying there on his doorstep dead and stabbed badly in his side. He rushed him back to the Covens Building and ordered Rosso to desperately cure his young partner; he failed. This was the second partner Shadow lost, and that would surely traumatize him even more.

Jihn honed a very powerful telekinetic mind, and he's able to levitate and float objects at his will. Another interesting thing is that he has a special deck of cards that act as a shield, he's used this technique before in bar fights. Jihn, with his telekinetic mind and caring heart, proved to be one of the most memorable people Shadow has encountered, and he now keeps the deck of cards as a momento to his deceased "son".
